Helpful Information

Sellers:
Make sure you know what you own (resort, week number, villa size, season and usage type). A copy of the deed to the property will be most helpful for this information.

Make sure you have the right to sell it. Sometimes weeks are owned among multiple parties. You should ensure that no other persons can claim ownership rights.

Make sure that you are the primary owner of the week. Only the primary owner should be listing the week for sale. The primary owner was designated at the time of the original purchase, or through a later deed change.

If you are a member of the Starwood Vacation Network, you may not transfer membership in this program to your buyer. Your membership in the Starwood Preferred Guest Program also may not be transferred to your buyer. If you have the ability to convert your week to Starpoints through the Starwood Preferred Guest Conversion Program, this benefit is also unique to your ownership and may not be transferred to your buyer.

Buyers:
Make sure you understand what you are buying. It is important to understand the difference between usage types (fixed, float and club) as well as the unit size.

Make sure you understand when your use rights will begin. If you are purchasing a fixed week it may have already passed for the current year, or for other usage types the seller may have already used the week for the current year. This should be clarified with the seller.

Record your deed with the appropriate county. In Florida you must record the deed in the county where the property is located in order for the title change to be complete. Sheraton Vistana Resort Orlando is located in Orange County Florida. Vistana's Beach Club is located in St. Lucie County Florida. Sheraton Desert Oasis is located in Maricopa County Arizona. Villas of Cave Creek is located in Maricopa County Arizona. A local law firm best accomplishes this.
